The first five travel companies on the Indian ocean island of Madagascar to achieve the Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) mark have been announced. In receiving this mark, Salary Bay,  Hotel Le Paradisier, Mantasoa Lodge, BushHouse Lodge and Tsara Camp become not only the first to do so in Madagascar, but also the first outside of South Africa.

Commenting on their accreditation, FTT General Manager Kathy Bergs said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the FTT footprint is now visible in Madagascar. These businesses are all pioneers of sustainable tourism and exemplify the FTT values of fair share, fair say, respect, reliability, transparency and sustainability.” To learn more about newly certified businesses in Madagascar click here.
