If you are planning on attending the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference (ESTC15), you might want to turn up a day early. Then you could join the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s 2015 Latin America Regional Meeting, which takes place at the Palacio de Cristal in Quito, Ecuador on April 26, 2015.
The meeting aims to supply anyone working in tourism with the basic tools, contacts, and references to improve overall sustainability of their operations. Throughout the day, presentations and round-table discussions will focus on sustainable tourism standards, destination management, industry best practices, and the GSTC Destinations Programme. Topics covered will include: regional trends in sustainable tourism; sustainability education and training; strategic destination planning, and the presentation of various case studies. Among the speakers will be the GSTC’s CEO Randy Durband, along with GSTC representatives from Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.
